LED light source products will have "national standard"

As a new lighting product, LED light sources and lamps have become more and more popular in lighting engineering in recent years. However, due to the lack of relevant standards, there are many types of LED lighting products, but the quality is uneven. This morning, the 2008 LED Outdoor Public Lighting Technology Standards Seminar was held at the Convention and Exhibition Center.


A total of 13 experts and scholars and more than 200 industry representatives from both sides of the strait participated in the morning seminar.


Zheng Guoan, deputy secretary-general of the General Office of the Ministry of Science and Technology, pointed out that China has a huge lighting market and a solid lighting industry base. It is one of the world's largest producers and exporters of electric light sources and lighting appliances. The application of LED light source in road lighting has become a hot spot in the semiconductor lighting industry in recent years. At present, more than 100 companies have invested in the development of semiconductor street lamps at home and abroad, but they have not yet invested in mass production, except for the technology to be broken. The lack of product standards is one of the main factors restricting the large-scale application of LED street lamps. He hopes to promote LED public lighting standards research through the efforts of the government and industry.

The representative of the National Standardization Administration Committee revealed that the National Standardization Administration Committee has initiated the formulation of 11 national standards and will report to the Standards Committee during the year.
