Japanese LED light Siphon refreshes crowdfunding record due to beauty
June 30, 2023
Japanese crowdfunding has once again seen success stories! The LED bulb "Siphon", which is said to have both energy-saving and beautiful appearance, was put on the crowdfunding website Makuake in early November this year. The target amount is 1.5 million yen (equivalent to about 78108.32 yuan), but it has been raised so far. 11.69 million yen (equivalent to about 608,700 yuan). Not only has it exceeded the standard significantly, but it has also set a record among the industrial products in the history of Japanese crowdfunding.
After boarding Makuake, "Siphon" took about a week to reach the standard. Although there are still three days from the crowdfunding end time, the amount has already exceeded the crowdfunding target amount, which can be said to be quite successful.
Although LED bulbs are energy-efficient and durable, the ugly appearance always deters people who value beauty. Therefore, in most coffee shops, restaurants or small shops, most traditional light bulbs are used. Observed this situation, Nagoya industrial product manufacturer Beat-Sonic developed "Siphon", hoping to create an LED bulb that combines energy efficiency with the beauty of traditional light bulbs.
"The LED bulbs on the market are all cooled by metal, but we use the glass part of the bulb to dissipate heat. Therefore, we can make beautiful LED bulbs without metal blocks," said project manager Hu.
Beat-Sonic was originally a small and medium-sized enterprise specializing in the production of automotive interior parts. In order to open up new business plans, it decided to enter the home lighting field and launch the light bulb "Siphon". This time, I chose to publish products on the crowdfunding website. On the one hand, I will raise funds for new products. What is more important is to market in the name of crowdfunding. Let the products test the temperature before the sale and see the reaction of consumers. "Siphon" is expected to begin mass production next month and will be officially launched in February next year.
