CIC Advisor Analyst Shen Hongwen believes that with strong financial strength and management experience, Foxconn has the ability to gain a foothold in the growing solar market.

However, at present, Foxconn has suffered serious losses in the OEM business. Foxconn International, which is listed in Hong Kong and mainly Nokia OEM, lost US $ 316 million in 2012, while Foxconn Technology Group, which is not listed and mainly Apple OEM, is uncharacteristically this year. Suspension of all factory recruitment, and even began to dismiss some employees. In the self-built retail channel that Guo Taiming has high hopes for, Foxconn is also losing again and again.

Analysts believe that the above factors have accelerated Foxconn's entry into the solar photovoltaic field.
